John Sullivan’s distinguished career spans four decades in the motion picture industries. Sullivan has worked as a cinematographer and visual effects supervisor for many leading directors including John McTiernan, Michael Mann, Wes Craven, and others. Sullivan’s creative collaboration with McTiernanwas particularly notable and included such films as The 13th Warrior, The Thomas Crown Affair, Die Hard With A Vengeance and Last Action Hero.
John became known for cutting edge visual effects and ground-breaking work on such films as Star Trek, The Motion Picture, Invaders from Mars, Lifeforce, Caddy Shack, Bonfire of the Vanities, and Last Action Hero. Sullivan’s expertise in cinematography, motion control technology, optical compositing, and digital visual effects led the way in the rapid expansion
of Hollywood’s visual effects industry.
Other leading Hollywood talent John collaborated with include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Adam Sandler, Pierce Brosnanand Antonio Banderas. After winning an EMMY for HBO’s The Pacific, John began a long collaboration with producer/director Pierre de Lespinois on Walking with Dinosaurs, eventually joining forces up to form Vision 3 Experiential where they were awarded US patents for their game-changing X-Portal technology.
